Large Copper-Gold Anomalies Defined by Kennecott at Lucky Joe

 No. 11/2003

Vancouver, BC, August 21, 2003. Copper Ridge Explorations Inc. (the "Company") is pleased to report exploration progress on its Lucky Joe-Shamrock copper-gold project, Dawson City area, Yukon, under option to Kennecott Canada Exploration Ltd. ("Kennecott"). Kennecott has provided a field report describing the results of its work during June and July. This helicopter supported program has involved reconnaissance geological mapping and soil sampling over the 15,000 hectare property, covering an area roughly 10 km by 40 km. Kennecott's soil sampling program is effectively defining the limits of the weathered (soil covered) surface exposure of the mineralized horizon and is demonstrating the potential for discovery of a copper-gold deposit of significant size.

The work has defined two northwest trending anomalous zones. The Three Bears trend covers the original Lucky Joe deposit and the Bear Cub anomaly that was previously defined by Copper Ridge. This trend, defined by soil values that range up to 3,060 ppm copper and 65.3 ppb gold, has been expanded to a 12.6 km strike length and is still open to the south. The parallel Ryan Pit trend, 3 to 4 km to the west, is more strongly enriched in gold and contains values up to 1,899 ppm copper and 573 ppb gold in soils. This trend includes the Ryan Creek anomaly defined by Copper Ridge in 2002 and has now been extended to 7.4 km in strike length, open to the north.

Continuing fieldwork includes infill soil sampling and mechanical trenching. Copper Ridge expects that this work will lead to a recommendation for drilling, with drill targets being defined primarily by the strongest Cu-Au soil anomalies, confirmed by trenching and supported by airborne magnetics and geological mapping.
The Lucky Joe deposit is a 30-50 metre thick "blanket" of gold-bearing chalcopyrite (copper) and pyrite mineralization in quartz-mica schist, with a strong correlation of gold to copper at a ratio of 1 gram of gold for each 1% of copper. A magnetite-bearing amphibolite layer overlies the copper-gold horizon. Magnetic highs that characterize the amphibolite in the Lucky Joe area can be seen to extend the length of the Lucky Joe-Shamrock property, reflecting the key amphibolite hangingwall unit. See the Copper Ridge web site for a complete project description -- http://www.copper-ridge.com.

The Lucky Joe-Shamrock project is a part of the Company's focus on discovery of deposits with world class potential, emphasizing gold and copper-gold in Yukon and Alaska. The Company's Yukon Olympic IOCG (Olympic Dam) target is under option to Canadian Empire Exploration Ltd. Copper Ridge also holds two high quality gold projects in the heart of the Tintina Gold Belt - Scheelite Dome in Yukon and Ogopogo, 4 km from the Teck-Sumitomo Pogo gold deposit (9.0 million tonnes averaging 18.9 g/tonne gold) in Alaska. Drilling is planned for Scheelite Dome later in the field season.
